Maggie

Maggie is my service dog.  She is an Old English Sheep Dog.  Maggie is trained to help me with reading my Cortisol levels, bracing me so I don't loose balance and fall as well as pressure therapy.  Maggie and I have had a very smooth transition into our working relationship.  I trained Maggie with virtual mentorship through her puppy years during Covid with the Applejack K9 Academy program.

Maggie is my third dog to go through the  Applejack K9 program and my first dog to study under the ERWD.

I have a 13 year relationship with Applejack K9 Academy.  I have trained under Kyle, Ryan and their staff.  I also had the honor of training with their father 13 years ago with my first dog Presley, my German Shephard, through their program.  She was bred under the Applejack K9 Academy program.  Kyle matched me with Presley.  She crossed the bridge last year.  When she passed I knew it was time to get my service dog.  Presley instintively met all the needs inside our family for 12 years.  I never went anywhere I couldn't take her.

My therapist suggested we ask Kyle to test Maggie to see if she would be a fit as a service animal.  Kyle had Maggie for several months training and testing her.  We met on a weekly basis to discuss her progress.  Every week he was so excited to report all her successes!  I traveled back to Maryland to study with Kyle and take my public access test.

I highly recommend Applejack K9 Academy and the ERWD for service and therapy training.  I have lived in several places all over the country and I always make the trip back to study with their program.  There is no better quality and consistency.  I have tried out other programs and the results are never the same.

The Elite Registry of Working Dogs has helped Gus and I every step of the way through training and beyond.  The thought of completing obedience and assistance training seemed intimidating but Kyle and the whole ERWD team made it a possibility.  Gus was not always an easy dog to train but with every challenge and every personal setback I was met with support and guidance.  Gus's training was adaptive and tailored to my needs and by the end he was exactly what i needed.  The bond created between Gus and I is something I will always be grateful for, and I can never repay those who helped us get to where we are now.  The freedom and the sense of security given to me by having Gus is invaluable and its all thanks to the ERWD. I cannot say enough good things about this organization and every person involved.

Capone

As a pediatric occupational therapist interest in animal assisted therapy and alternate interventions to enhance my treatment approach, I entrusted Applejack K9 Academy's trainers and the principles of the Elite Registry of Working Dogs (ERWD) program to advance my canine's obedience, working skill set, and dog/handler relationship.  The ERWD program has furthered my confidence as a handler and allowed me to utilize animal assisted therapy to enrich the lives of children within my profession.
