The ERWD bridges the gap between the world’s finest working dogs and the true canine companions. It is a fixed permanent file that has set standards and certifications for all canine working applications involving said canine and its owner based on their own unique relationship. The ERWD is also a fixed permanent file of breeding standards set for the further betterment of dogs selected for these programs. The ERWD documents the adult breeding dogs and all puppies produced in each litter. Only dogs certified in the ERWD are selected for breeding. Following the strict ERWD breeding program produces puppies that are given temporary ERWD status. Future status is updated as a puppy progresses. ERWD documentation maintains dog ownership and stays current with all status updates.
All programs are based on the Doug Ramsey methodology which looks at the dog, the owner and the environment. The dog and owner are both emotional beings. The Doug Ramsey methodology focuses on drives, hormones, reflexes, body language and space perception, why a dog does what it does, and how to modify behavior in a way that enhances the relationship between the dog and the owner and the most efficient working dog/owner team while ensuring a stable situation.
The ERWD will provide the time and staff to complete the education of the instructors, handlers and dogs. Individuals who wish to become trainers/behaviorists will be schooled in the theory, practical and technical education necessary to help the owners and their dogs to meet the standards set by the ERWD. As trainers are added to the staff, more programs can be added.
Dogs and their handlers/ owners will be educated in basic canine behavior modification, advanced obedience, and specialized training. A search and rescue club will form to assist the community in locating missing or lost persons and offering specialized certifications. A youth puppy development program will educate youth of various age groups and backgrounds in the development and care of puppies. Service and therapy dogs will be trained and placed with disabled individuals to improve quality of life and offer them independence. ERWD certified Loyal Guardian dogs will be trained and used for personal and family protection or placed with victims of crimes (stalking, rape, domestic abuse, etc.). Loyal Guardian dogs can also be offered to military or police personnel as an alternative to firearms. Working with local shelters and humane societies, dogs will be selected to be trained and placed in homes. The goal of offering these educational programs is to reduce the burden on society by allowing individuals more independence and placing otherwise unwanted dogs in environments where they can have a better life.
Training will be conducted at various local facilities.
